The service
Barnraiser (Harings Media & Technology LLC, a Wisconsin company) builds, hosts, and manages websites for small businesses. The monthly service includes the website itself, hosting, domain management, SSL, a contact form, Google Business Profile setup, and the updates described below.
Price
- $199 per month, billed monthly. No setup fee.
- Price lock: the monthly price you sign up at is your price for as long as you remain a client. If our standard price increases later, it applies to new clients only.
- An optional one-of-a-kind custom design is a one-time $299 charge, then the same monthly rate.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Charges appear from Harings Media & Technology LLC.
What's included each month
- Hosting, domain renewal, SSL, backups, and uptime monitoring — handled entirely by us.
- One round of content changes per month — things like updated services, prices, hours, phone numbers, or new photos. Send them over and we make them.
- Larger work — new pages, new sections, redesigns, anything beyond a content update — is quoted separately and only done with your approval. Nothing gets added to your bill without a yes from you first.
Your domain
Your domain name belongs to you. We register and manage it on your behalf while you're a client so you never deal with renewals. If you cancel, we transfer the domain to you at no charge — you'll need an account at a registrar to receive it, and we'll walk you through that.
Cancelling
- Month to month. No contract, no term, no cancellation fee.
- Cancel by telling us — email, call, or text. Your site stays up through the end of the period you've paid for, then hosting ends.
- On request, we'll provide a copy of your site's files and transfer your domain as described above.
- We can also end service with 30 days' notice — if that ever happens, same deal: your files and your domain go with you.
- Payments already made aren't refunded, but you're never charged past a cancellation.
Your content, your responsibility
- You own the content you give us — your photos, your logo, your text — and you're responsible for having the right to use it.
- We own our templates, layouts, and tooling. Your finished site is yours to use; our underlying system stays ours so we can keep building with it.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of claims on your site (licensing, certifications, pricing). We'll never invent credentials for you — and we ask that you don't either.
- We don't build sites for anything illegal, deceptive, or harmful. We can decline or discontinue work that turns out to be any of those.
Reviews and testimonials
Any reviews shown on a site we build are real and labeled with their source, or clearly marked as samples. We don't fabricate social proof, and we won't publish fabricated reviews at a client's request.
What we don't promise
- Search rankings. We build sites properly for search — real structure, real local signals — but nobody can honestly guarantee a position on Google, and we don't.
- Perfect uptime. Our hosting provider is reliable and we monitor it, but the internet has outages, and we can't promise there will never be one.
- Business results. A good website helps people find and call you. How the calls go is your department.
Liability
The service is provided as described, without other warranties. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising out of the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the three months before the issue arose. Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential damages.
Disputes
These terms are governed by Wisconsin law. If something goes wrong, call us first — most problems are a five-minute conversation. Anything that isn't gets resolved in the courts of Wisconsin.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version goes up here with a new date, and we'll tell existing clients directly. A change never breaks the price lock.
